BIG GIRL IN A BIG WORLD.
In another
sixteen sunsetsthe teenage ends
eerie, seems yesterday
I held your finger and moved a step
cried on your shoulder
was smacked by mom
with my fairy dress
you loved my ballet
the first pen dad you gifted
your restless look
the first day trip I took
morning five to evening six
then the bed time stories I’ll always miss
the ping pong table for your princess
birthday surprise, the fairy crown
my first cell phone and the new activa
time out grew but your little one still needs you
for the world a bride in making
I’ll kick that silly being,
do not need a prince, all I want to be with my king
a heart break yet again least required
I am a big big girl in a big big world
wondering why it happens, why it all has to end,
I need your arms around like a fire
the protection I always had
then why today I open my eyes and its all gone.
